Privacy Policy

At Mole Avon Trading Limited ("we", "us" or "our") we're committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.  This policy, together with our Website Terms of Use, our Terms and conditions of supply and our Cookie Policy, applies to your use of our website www.moleavon.co.uk (the "site") and the services we provide. It sets out how we collect personal data from or about you, and how and what we'll use it for.  It's important you read it and understand what we do with your data. By visiting our site you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this policy.

These types of policies can be wordy and difficult to follow, but we've tried to keep it as simple as possible.  However, if you do have any questions, please contact us at web@moleavon.co.uk.  As a starter, we're the data controller (meaning we decide how, when and where your data is processed). See "About Us" below for information on who we are.

We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • Data you give us. This could be when you register for, log into, or use your account; fill out forms; upload content; comment; make use of our services (e.g. when you place an order); and when you contact us. This data may include your name, address, email address, phone number, age, username, password, and financial information.
  • Data we collect about you. We also collect anonymised aggregated data about how you use our services. Cookies

Our site uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of our site. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our site and also allows us to improve our site. For detailed information on the cookies we use and the purposes for which we use them see our Cookie Policy.

What Do We Use Your Data For:

Clearly we'll use it to do the basics like provide services you request or register for, and to respond to your enquiries so we won't focus on these.  Some of the other uses that might not be so obvious are using it to:

  • remember you so that you don't have to re-enter your details each time you log in.
  • provide, test, improve and update our site, and to monitor its performance and effectiveness.
  • to notify you about changes to our service.
  • improve user experience and the quality of the content available.
  • help us identify and fix defects or errors in our systems.
  • where you've consented, send you information about products or services that we or other third parties provide that may be of interest to you (you'll be able to opt out of these at any time).

Disclosure of Your Information:

We may share your data with selected third parties including:

  • Business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you.
  • Advertisers and advertising networks that require the data to select and serve relevant adverts to you and others. [We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers, but we may provide them with aggregate information about our users (for example, we may inform them that 500 men aged under 30 have clicked on their advertisement on any given day). We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target (for example, women in SW1). We may make use of the personal data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers' wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience].
  • Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our site.

We also reserve the right to access and disclose individually identifiable data to comply with any applicable laws and lawful government requests, to enforce the terms of our agreement with you, to operate our systems properly, to protect both ourselves and our users, and where we are approached by a potential buyer of our business or assets, or in relation to any joint venture or business arrangement.

Where We Store Your Data:

All data you provide or which we collect about you is stored on secure servers within the European Economic Area (EEA).  It may also be processed by people who work for us or for one of our suppliers.  By submitting your personal data, or otherwise using our site, you acknowledge and agree to this transfer, storing and/or processing.  We'll take steps that are reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is stored and treated securely and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Remember that unfortunately the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your data, we can't guarantee its security as it is transmitted to us so any transmission is at your risk. Once we receive it, we'll use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Your Rights:

You have the right to ask us not to process your data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your data to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data.  You can also exercise the right at any time by contacting us at web@moleavon.co.uk].
